Wondering
Got a question. Is Neo Counter a good thing or a bad thing for a blog? I remember reading awhile back that it could be spyware or something similar. I’ve seen Neo Counters on other blogs and I thought it would be cool to know if I have any readers from other countries. Any advice?

I use Bravenet counter, which is nice, but hubby uses site-meter, which is really cool. It shows you who is reading and from where in the entire world. If you are interested, go to http://justsoyouallknow.blogspot.com/
and click on sitemeter all the way down at the bottom of the site.
I don't know about neo counter, sorry:-)
I pray you are doing well.
God's Grace.
i use bravenet counter too but i also have neo counter that shows which part of the world my visitors are coming from. so far, i haven't experienced any problems from using it. i run my anti- spyware from time to time though. well, it has been a habit.
I use Statcounter (free). There's an option to make it invisible, which I like. It shows readers by country, referrer, search query, etc. I'm very happy with it.
I use statcounter and don't have any complaints.
It's easy for me to use (since I'm computer illiterate) and they will send you weekly reports via email if you want.
I've tried blogpatrol.com and statcounter.com. Both are free and have not thrown up any spyware or adware warnings. StatCounter's results look a lot more professional than blogpatrol, but they do basically the same thing.
Good luck, it's always interesting to see who randomly finds your blog (like me!)

So much great advice...thank you all! I'll check into the different services and see which one fits me best.
Statcounter is cool. I just love it. I use Neocounter just for the sole purpose of getting a 'kick' out of knowing where the visitors I have right at this moment reading my blog are from. It's neat to know that you'll see two or more visitors reading your blog from different countries at that same time! The only thing is, if you get the free account (like mine), it has 'lapses' of several minutes.
