50/50 part two

Thanks everyone for your comments. It would seem that my question will take much research and prayer to find an answer. Depending on what religion you are or what Bible you read the interpretations (of suicide) fall into three categories: not forgivable, forgivable or answer unknown.

Also, my life is a mammoth struggle at the moment but my question regarding suicide was not for myself but just simple curiosity and clarity. I was taught in Bible class that the only unpardonable sin was to denounce Jesus Christ as my Savior. So, if all other sins are pardonable then wouldn’t it be logical to assume that if a person was saved yet committed suicide they would go to heaven?

Thats exactly what I think. i believe that if you're saved you are saved for life. Jesus died once and for all. We are born into His family once! Nothing can seperate us from His Love or pluck us out of His hand; not even suicide.

Scripture doesn't say anything about it. The idea that suicide is an unpardonable sin came from Roman Catholic teaching.
Scripture does say the unpardonable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. What that is generally agreed on by conservative scholars is exactly what you said, denying Christ, which is ignoring the Holy Spirit your whole life.
People who kill themselves are generally very sick, sometimes through no fault of their own, or even it if is self-inflicted guilt from bad behavior, bad behavior can be forgiven, if that person trusts in Christ.
Chances are poeple who committ suicide are not usually believers though, but it happens.

Hahaha....yeah. Silly girl, you're trying to apply logic to the bible. Just because your logic is sound (and it is) doesn't mean it's interpreted that way. But do the world a great big favor and keep on thinking that way...We need more people who can use their noggins. Chin up :-)
